We are having our inaugural 6 hour enduro in May, and have room for one more team.
This is a teams event of 3 drivers (min) driving one car over a 6 hour period.
It is restricted to 6 teams.
Basically, the cars are made up with 4" Champion Turbo Steel chassis, Parma Deathstar Motor, Parma Tuna rear tyres, and vacuum formed Coupe style sports car bodies same as used in Aussie Retro.
The cars will be fitted with lights, and the last racing bracket will be held in near darkness using the cars lights.
It will be hand out motor and 2 pair of rear tyres covered by the entry fee.
Here are regulations covering the car, the Teams, and the Race and, this is Appendix 2, page 2, option for lighting circuitry
Entry per 3 member team is $75.00 ($25.00 each non-SSME member, or $20.00 for SSME members)
If you are interested in entering, please let me know ASAP.
6Hr Race at SSME, 1st May 2011, midday start.
Re: 6Hr Race at SSME, 1st May 2011, midday start.
This was a great and thoroughly enjoyable event.
I'd venture that all participants had as good a time as Wayne, Cody and myself had, irrespective of their final placings.
Thanks to All who helped get the event up and running and to All who entered,..it Was a Lot of Fun and Great Racing.
Definitely Worthy of follow up events of a similar nature !!
Are there any pics? I completely forgot to take my camera along,..DOH!
Cheers and thanks to ALL once again.

Hi Stoo, yep, working through photo's, with hopefully more to come.
Thanks to Darryl for the photo's.
The race was a lot of fun and some new experiences for many.
The event was for hand out tyres and motor, so first up, get those motors fitted.
Robert and Ric.
Clint, Daniel, James.
Tony, Anthony, Nathan.
Rob, Troy, Robyn.
Darryl, Kevin.
Wayne, Cody.
Once the cars were ready to race, we kicked off with concours, and the beautiful Porsche of team Jagermeister was the winner.
Tony takes credit for the car. Well done Tony.
Jagermeister - Tony Gillespie, Anthony Gillespie, Nathan Drake.
We held qualifying to determine lane choice for the start, and Robert T pulled out a blinder of 4.549.
1 - 4.549 - Checkered Flag, Robert T
2 - 4.626 - Fox Racing, Troy
3 - 4.671 - HSC 1, Cody
4 - 4.800 - Venom Racing, Kevin
5 - 5.068 - Jagermeister, Anthony
6 - 5.076 - Tripple M, Clint
Fox Racing - Troy Boldy, Rob Grubesic, Robyn McLean (photo taken before front wheel arches cut out)
Tripp M - Daniel Morris, Clinton McKenzie, James McKenzie (photo taken before front wheel arches cut out)
Venom Racing - Darryl Toole, Kevin Sherwood, Steve Gaal.
Checkered Flag - Ric Miranda, Robert Todoroski, Steve King.
HSC 1 - Wayne Bramble, Cody Bramble, Stewart Amos.
We started out with 2 pair of tyres, 1 @ 0.790" dia, and 1 @ 0.812".
It worked out pretty well that one pair was not enough to get through, but the 2 pair was saw us comfortably through to the end.
The hand-out motors were Parma Deathstars, and they all performed pretty well, and there was very little difference in performance down the straight, and there were no failures. Although I found 2 duds out of 14 when I was checking them out prior to the race.
The lighting systems used were varied with mixed success.
Overall, a fun day.
Many thanks to all who entered, and helped on the day.
