Hi All
Sorry to take so long to get this up but here goes.
The second round of the SRC series held at HSC followed the success of Round 1 at SSME with good numbers.
A field of 14 for GT1 on the very fast Big Track and 10 for Retro CanAm on the very technical Small Track meant we had 2 races for each class of 7 and 5 respectively.
GT1
Race 1
Not much to say here other than Adam smashed the field to lead all the way and win by 9 laps!
Joe loves this track and showed it with a solid performance to just edge out Michael who got off to a slow start on Green. Michael did recover somewhat get in front of Joe in the 5th and 6th brackets but Joe came back in the 8th to seal the deal - very close racing between these two.
John was also in the mix until a poor run on Red (I have been there so many times) saw him drop to hold down 4th for the remainder of the race.
Stephan and Chris virtually held 5th and 6th all the way whilst Jason B had big troubles on Blue and Purple to finish in the rear.
Brothers Adam and Michael were the drivers to beat taking out fastest times on 4 lanes each.
Race 2
Apart from a slight glitch in the 1st bracket Andrew just slowly pulled away to win by 4 laps.
Gregg and I for the minor podium were neck and neck for the whole race but I managed to lead from the 2nd bracket and ultimately was able to just hold him off in the final bracket on Red whilst Gregg was on Black - both doing 23 laps!
Wayne positioned himself in 4th for almost the whole race with a quick look up into 3rd and a quick look down into 5th to finally just beat Darryl into 5th spot by 2/100ths of a second!!.
Jason Mc and Kenny held down the tail finishing a bit adrift of the field as they learn the track.
GT1 Washup
Wow - some very close racing.
Adam scorched the field followed by Andrew 5 laps down followed by 4 drivers on 4 laps behind him.
So there was 4.529 second between Joe on 3rd and Gregg on 7th.
That was not the end of the close racing as Wayne beat Darryl by 0.020 sec to take 7th with John only 3 laps behind them.
The fast laps were all done by brothers Adam and Michael with Mossetti Patriot Defender Chassis (MR-2007 Ultra Lightweight Steel pan for Adam and MR-2006 Aluminium pans for Michael) - they were flying.
Retro CanAm
Race 1
All the way win for me here with Jason B and Gregg having a ding dong battle for the minor podium.
Jason and Gregg mixed it up a little throughout and going into the last bracket Jason had 1 lap up. Gregg pulled out the stops on Yellow to post a fine 23 laps but just fell short to finish 3rd by 3.346 secs.
Chris in 4th was driving well holding off Stephan until he stuck issues in the 5th bracket and never recovered to allow Stephan through to finish 4th and to pick up the spoon.
Race 2
All the way podium here with Darryl, Wayne and Kenny starting and finishing a clear 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
Andrew swapped 5th for Jason Mc's 4th at the end of 5th bracket which is how they finished.
CanAm Washup
A good win for me over Darryl and also setting fastest tine on all lanes.
Jason just got the better of Gregg for 3rd while Wayne kept them very honest to finish 2 laps down in 5th.
After that we had 8 laps between Kenny 6th and Jason Mc 9th with the luckless Chris well back.
With 2 Rounds of the series in the bag it’s starting to look a little like horses for courses as SSME dominated their 1st round and HSC taking the plaudits for their round.
Well again a big thanks to James for hosting the race and the track prep and to all the racers who come and make it all worthwhile and engaging.
Next round at SSME on Tuesday 25th June - BE THERE.
Cheers.

Thanks Mark another great race report
Yes Stoo it was a close and fast night of racing
And yes that chassis is amazing and the new Gt1 JK chassis is a rocket
I ran the old JK as my new JK had a issue in practice and paid the price
Had a fun race with Darryl in Gt1 and only passed him on the last corner
and the amount of track calls in the first bracket killed my rythem
Thanks to James for another well prepared track
Bring on the next round June 25 at SSME and be there

Hi Guys,
Can somebody send me a reminder next time. I forgot all about the race !!
Then I moved house on the Geoghegan and now I have a family commitment this weekend. I will have withdrawals soon.
Sounds like it was a cracker race meeting.
Thanks for putting up the report Mark.
