HSC 2017 Retro Series Rnd 10 - Big Track (BTR) - 09/12/2017

Post by Mark Fox »

Hi All

Well six stalwart racers gathered together on Saturday 9th December for the final 2017 round of the HSC Club Retro series held on the big Track for Coupes and F1s.

A few of the regulars did not make it for the night but on the plus side James decided to blow the dust of his Retro Coupe and F1 to join the fray together with Matthew.

Coupes

Race 1
James was firing on all cylinders to lead all the way to take this one out over Casey and Joe

Race 2
Matthew followed James lead and after a couple of brackets when I managed to be on the same lap total (and barely in front) he just took it away from myself and Darryl.

Overall Results
Matthew and James had the fast times and the 1-2 for the HSC boys – not a bad effort after a long day of partying (with the younger clientele).

Race 2
All the way win for me but well behind Matthews total whilst Joe was well in the challenge only a lap down after 3 brackets until a breakage forced him to retire in the 4th bracket.

Overall Results
Well the fast guys were in the 1st race with Casey setting fastest time (of the night including Coupes!!!) and quickest on 4 lanes whilst Matthew did the business on the other 4 .

Lowest score of 20 on all lanes with a couple of 21’s saw Matthew equal the most laps I have records for on this track for F1.

He has done162 laps before as has Brad Y

Season Summary

Darryl took out the series in both CanAm/Coupes and F1 followed by myself and Neil in both classes also.

Racing 2018
The complete 2018 Calendar I now posted on the HSC web site and a feature of next year’s racing is that there will be 4 Enduros (2 HSC and 2 SSME) and the SRC rounds will be split evenly between HSC and SSME.

I will put the Calendar up on this forum in the very near future.

Have a great festive season and I hope to see you all fit and raring to go at the ADC in January.
Regards - Mark 8-)

Thanks for the report and pics Mark.
Seemed like there was some Great racing on the night, even with such a small field !!
Was somewhat annoyed I could Not be there,.. :(

Great to see that James managed to have a run as well. One can only hope he generally feels better next year and can join us all more regularly.

Congrats to Matthew on his Wins and also to Darryl, Nark EDIT (Ooops !! Damn those Keys being So close  Thanks Neil) and Neil for their positions in the Overall Point score for the Year !!
Well done guys.

Finally decided to run the McLaren I see Mark,.. such a damn nice looking car/body !!

As suggested by Darryl, there really was some fantastic and thoroughly enjoyable racing this last year and hopefully will continue in the coming year.

Hope everyone has a Safe and enjoyable 'Festive Season', Xmas and New Year.

Thanks Fox,( I think Stoo is being a bit harsh renaming you Nark ....)
As I have have mentioned previously I always look forward to seeing your reports and builds.
Sorry I have not turned up much lately, but I have had a bit of a bad run of illness.
Missing the last couple of races is making me look forward to next year even more. I might even get the jig out over Christmas and get a couple of ideas out of my head and into some brass.
Thanks to the Retro gang for some tough, friendly and fun racing.
The idea of a Retro Enduro Series is appealing ..... although I may have run out of team mates!
I hope Santa remembers where you all live!
Neil
