HSC Retro 'Flat Track' Series R10. 12 December 2015

Hi All

Last night was the final in the 10 round HSC Flat Track Retro Series for 2015 - this round was for Coupes and F1s.
Ten racers lined up to do battle.

Matthew led strongly for 4 brackets until fading to 3rd when negotiating Black and Purple while sly James started on Black and slowly worked through the field to hit the lead in the 5th bracket and never looked back. Stoo was in hot pursuit to be only a lap down at the end of the 6th bracket but James - with purple to finish on - blistered 23 on Blue in the 7th bracket to seal the deal with Stoo 2nd.

Well this heat was a bit boring - except for Darryl who lead all the way. I thought I would peg him back as at the end of the 4th bracket I was only 2 laps down and had done the dreaded Purple and Black whilst Darryl still had that pleasure to come. Dream on - my controller lost brakes in the 5th bracket and I lost laps to drop to 4th. In the meantime Peter and Paul were battling it out for 2nd and third with Paul prevailing ultimately. Peter had a bit of bad luck on Blue in the 7th bracket and that - combined with a finish of 23 laps on Blue in the last bracket - saw me pinch 3rd spot from him by a lap.

F1
James, Joe and Matthew decided to pull out of the F1 and with Bill helping this gave the enough marshals to run a Final only for F1 which promised to be exiting with 28 open wheels looking to engage with each other

A very fast F1 race with only 2 laps less than Coupes. Paul led off for the first 2 brackets followed by Darryl for the next 2 followed by myself for the final 4. Paul finished a strong 2nd whilst Stoo and Darryl battled for 3rd with Darryl pipping Stoo by 0.21 of a second followed by Peter. Unfortunately Leigh and Wizard struck big troubles and did not finish.
