Re: KING WILLYS 27L AND OMO ROUND 3 APRIL 18
OK,now that we got THAT out of the way............
It was the Verbeek family day out today!
Rick took all the marbles (no chockies this month...),taking out both classes.
We also saw the debut of Brad Verbeek (Not another one!!! ) in 27L,and the return to wing car racing of multi time Australian champ Dennis Traeger.
Dennis was hampered by a short chassis that didn't like some of the tight, flat King Willys corners, but managed to TQ in 27L.
In the end,Rick,Geoff and Lee survived the 27L Demo Derby to take the podium spots.
27Lite
1st. Rick. 537
2nd. Geoff. 528
3rd. Lee. 525
4th. Russell. 524
5th. Paul. 516
6th. Stuart. 511
7th. Dave. 488
8th. Bruce. 459
9th. Brad. 426
10th. Dennis. 421
11th. Andy. 355
TQ. Dennis. 2.1939
In OMO Rick cleaned up. But,I have to mention the hard work, dedication and skill, displayed by Bruce's pit crew, that allowed him to crawl into 2nd spot.Without his crew to answer essential questions like "Which way does the car go?" and "What do these dial things do on the controller thing???",the results surely would have been different! .
Meanwhile.......Lee came home 3rd.
O.M.O.
