Windsor Slot Cars- Racing Schedule for 2024

Post by Mark Fox »

Hi All,

EDIT: Please Note that sadly ALL future planned events on this Superbly re-built track have been 'skuppered' by someone or for some reason (Unknown),.. whatever has happened it simply means none of us will have the opportunity to continue to race on Sydney's best track.

The flat track circuit formerly located at HSC has been lovingly rehoused at Windsor by Ron Griffin and after a bit of a hit out on the refurbished (new wiring and relays as well) track we (Ron, Darryl, Roland, Dave, Charles, Wayne W and myself were really keen to get some racing happening.

Hi Keiran,
No, not Really a "Slot Car Centre" as a Commercial 'Enterprise' as such.

It is a Factory Space belonging to a Keen long time slotting enthusiast, who Acquired the HSC tracks and eventually re-built / completely Re-Wired the (almost universally), Beloved 'Flat Track' and is now Scheduling (allowing) us Keen racers to attend and enjoy the Rich Slotting Goodness of the Re-Fettled track. :) :D

Hi All

Please note changes of event name to 'Australia Day Mash' due to King Willies running the Australia Day Classic picking up when HSC closed.

Also now confirming 4 classes will be run.

Please note the regulations are as per ASCRA site and also note the Track/Event specific nominations and variances.

Cheers

Just wondering What has 'inspired / caused' the Change to the Porsche Cup Motor rules ???

I thought the Cars / Class worked very well.
Very unsure how 'Equivalent' those Options will be around that track ??

No change to the rules which sate and have always stated: -

Motor & Gears
a) 13D long or short can motors as specified by raceway or race meeting.

Thus for this race the motor is specified as ANY 25K long or Short Can.

All other regulations apply of course.

Cheers

OH, ok,... I guess I just 'assumed' (obviously incorrectly), that it would have been One or the Other, Not a 'Mix & Match' scenario as such.
Not aware of it ever being 'Mixed' previously ;) :)

It's perfectly legal under the rules, just nobody ever thought of doing it before.

Doesn't mean it's right though.

Not a fan myself - it's the way Ron wanted it.
All cars actually raced long can 25k motors.
I reckon the short can would struggle with the weight particularly as the gearing is not changed!
