Firstly, apologies for taking so long to get this Report up, just took a while to get over my Poor drive in Coupes
Sadly, Low numbers once again, but was great to see and have Gregg T returning to race with us again, along with Wayne B, Darryl & myself, which at least made 4, one better than the Last Round !!
Am a bit concerned over one Long Time Stalwart, Neil as he has Not joined us to race for quite a few rounds and have not seen any 'post' by him on the Forum either, so I Do hope everything is OK and look forward to seeing him at the upcoming rounds.
Coupes:
After 'Performing' so well in the last Enduro at SSME, I was a bit disappointed by My car's ultimate Lack of pace, (compared to the other three), guess I should have put another Motor in the car, as the one I ran was the one we used for the 2nd half of the enduro but was also compounded by Not really 'testing' the conditions properly on the night.
I have latterly been running the car with slightly 'Cut-down' Alpha's and could perhaps have used Full width or perhaps even JK's this evening, as it was lacking in Ultimate traction,... a Bit,.. BUT I also made a few errors (compared to the others), which compromised my overall Totals
It Was very close between All of us up to the end of the 3rd bracket, with Wayne holding down 1st place with a Slight margin over Darryl until the 4th bracket, when a similarly Poor run on Blue, (which All of us had strangely), they were on the same lap, with Gregg a mere lap behind.
Darryl basically owned the last half of the race, initially Only slightly, but his lead grew as the race progressed and as can be seen from the Race sheets, he set the fastest Times on Every lane and set some Great bracket lap totals, especially in the last 3 brackets, when he stamped his authority on the race.
Wayne and Gregg were having a great race as well, up until the end of the 5th bracket, when Gregg started to slowly increase his lead over Wayne, similar to Daryl's increase over Gregg, with All of them slowly increasing their lead over myself.
I Was Pleased with my total on Purple of 22 though and am feeling far more confident about my driving on both Purple & Black lately, which IS a very good thing,..lol
All in all, a pretty good, fun race and a fine and deserved Win by Darryl.
F1:
Personally, a Much better race for myself and overall, a Very fast and Clean race, with some great overall lap totals and times by us all !!!
Whilst Darryl held down first after the 1st bracket and Was the eventual winner, it was a Very Close run thing, Race Long, with Wayne taking the lead in the 2nd bracket and holding the lead until the Last few laps of the very last bracket !!!
During the race, there was Only 1 to 3 laps between Darryl, Wayne and myself, with Gregg Just Not being on the same pace as the three of us but still doing pretty well.
I was much happier with my F1 drive than I was with my Coupe and was honestly having to literally drive the Wheels off the car to try and keep within Cooee of Wayne and Darryl,..
As mentioned (and can be seen in the Race sheet), it was So Close, where going into the last bracket, Wayne was on 153 laps, Darryl on 152 laps and myself on 151 laps !!!
Wayne managed to 'blitz' me by doing a great 23 in the Final bracket, with Darryl finishing the evening with a Great 24 laps in the final bracket, Just 'stealing' the lead from Wayne, with them both finishing on the Same lap !!
Once again, a very enjoyable race and a heap of fun, had by all of us
Thanks as Always MUST go out to Our regular and always eager marshal Greg Erskine as well as Joe and James.
Considering the track was probably Not as 'grippy' as it often is for our Retro nights, it required rather tidy and steady driving, making the overall totals all the more impressive I feel and was 'typically' just Another Fun night's racing Retro's at HSC !!

Thanks Stoo
Good report on some close racing especially in F1. Excellent but hard fought wins by Darryl and great to see Wayne and Gregg in the mix.
Can’t wait to get back and have some racing.
Cheers

Hi guys,
Thanks for your thoughts (and your report) Stoo
Just a combination of changes in job, a bit of illness and Marion's busy schedule has been responsible for my recent lack of attendance lately.
I should be back on track (literally) at Luddenham.
Neil
