Race Report - Geoghegan Trophy 2019

Post by Mark Fox »

Hi All

Well the 2019 Geoghegan Trophy was an absolute triumph for FAT Racing (Fox Amos Toole) who took out the full podium in both CanAm and F1.

In fact the news that the full complement of FAT Racing were going to be competing must have leaked out as nobody else was game to have a go!

So FAT Racing set off to have some fun with the generous help of Joe with James and the track call clicker as marshals.

CanAm

Fast TQ from me Darryl also clocking in the 4’s.

All the way win for me (the “F” in FAT) over Darryl (the “T” in FAT) by 1.179 secs with Stoo (the “A” in FAT) bringing up the rear.

So it came to me yet again lift the spoils for the 4th time of the last 5 (Cody scored in 2016 – but I was overseas at the time – just saying   ).

Overall a very disappointing turn-out considering James puts the event on, prepares the track, organised Trophies etc and Joe relinquished the chance to race so we could at least have a bit of a hit-out.

Thanks James and Joe – to quote Lara Bingle (not something I do often I can tell you) “Where the bloody hell are you?”

Cheers
Regards - Mark 8-)

Great report Mark,,,,and I must say,,,I had a great time,,,racing against my team buddies,,,,we really had some very close and fun racing,,,well done us !!! A big thanks to James and Joe for the excellent track condition and marshaling,,,,felt bad for James with the poor numbers. Hope things improve for the sake of retro, and for the track sustainability

Yes,.. I too enjoyed a rather pleasant evening with my FAT Racing team mates Darryl and Very Long time friend Mark.

Sadly, I did Not have the True 'Pace' with either car on the night to Mix it with Darryl and Mark let alone the brain Not being fully in gear at times, my performance really Not deserving of a Trophy,.. other than perhaps for Actually turning UP !!

I'm still astounded that an Event of this Long time theoretical significance (as far as NSW Slotting is concerned), could be SO poorly attended.

Sincere thanks to James for the Great Track Prep (Traction was Fantastic) Trophies and Marshalling as well as to Joe for his assistance as well, to 'allow' us 3 x buddies to have a bit of Fun 'on the night'.

I also hope things Improve for the sake of the Sport/Hobby and James !!!!
