The 6th Round of the 2018 HSC series attracted a good field of 10 for Coupes and 9 for F1 to race on the Big Track.
Great to see two new faces in Jason (Brooksy) and Ben (Benno) joining the fray with loaners in both classes for Benno courtesy of James and a Coupe for Brooksy from Joe. Also really good to see Joe and Brad back in the mix after a bit of an absence.

Race 1
Well the chart shows it was Brad all the way but Joe was never more than a lap or so down. It went to the wire with both on the same laps for the 6th and 7th brackets until Brad got the win by a lap (less than a lap in reality if you look at the Bell Lap times). Very good racing.
Gregg was also in the hunt only a couple of laps adrift whilst the standout for me was Brooksy's drive to be only 5 laps off the winners pace. Both Brooksy and Benno gave a good account of themselves driving Retro cars on an unfamiliar track – hope to see you both again in these races.

This was a definite procession with Matthew (yet again) just moving further ahead at each turn setting fastest lap on all lanes.
The field was well spread with 21 laps between 1st and 4th whilst Neil had a spot of bother at the start and the end of the proceedings.

Good win to Matthew by 7 laps over me but it was close for the rest with only 5 laps between Brad in 3rd and Brooksy in 7th. Stoo pipped Benno for 8th whilst unlucky Neil got the spoon.

Race 1
Easy win for Gregg here over the good effort of Benno.
Third for Joe (who had his own troubles in the 5th bracket) over the totally luckless Brad who had a major bingle which saw the back end of his car stuffed beyond a quick pit repair.

Put Matthew on the Big Track – watch him win easily – repeat – that’s what we are used to seeing in this comp and he did not disappoint - winning over me by 10 laps! The only slight aberration this time around was that Stoo actually led for the first 2 brackets but struck a glitch on Red to fall through the field to finish 4th a few up on Neil.
Darryl and I battled hard for the minor podium until I managed to sneak ahead on White and Red
Matthew set fastest lap on 6 of the 8 lanes with Stoo and Joe scoring 1 each for the balance.

Another win for Matthew over Gregg by 7 laps (again) with me in 3rd and the field a bit more spread than in the Coupes.
Bad luck to Brad and also Stoo who had a gremlin at one stage but for mine a really good run from Benno.
