Seeing as there appears to be an interest in Aussie slot car history, how about a Roll of Honour?
I did a google search without luck, maybe there is an interest in listing winners of major events, and showing as many trophies as we can.
Events like; The Geoghegan, The Brock, The Brabham, National and State titles, Wherrett Trophy, The Matich, ??
What others?
Anyone interested?

Re: Australian Slot Car Roll of Honour
Steve this is a great idea.
If we don't do it soon it will be too late.
I did do a NSWMRRA results newsletter for a year or 2, maybe late 1970's or early 1980's, but I don't have a copy of any of them. They were hand written and probably just 10 or 20 photocopies made, so there is a very slight chance someone has a copy somewhere.
I have a couple of trophies that are state, National and Brock so:
NSWMRRA NSW State Titles 1979 1st Pro - Greg Erskine
(NSWMRRA NSW State Titles 1979 2nd Pro - Wayne Bramble)
Peter Brock Race (The Brock) 1st Group 20 1979 - Greg Erskine (I think this was at Kim Axton's Blue King)
1980 Nationals Round 3 June 3rd Place Grp 27 - Greg Erskine (can't remember where this was?)
I have another trophy with no engraving on it that came from "Club Giftware Melbourne" so it must have been a National race but I can't remember any details.
Also, Toby Lee had a period (4 or 5 years maybe more) in the 1980's were he won just about every NSW race and a lot of National races. I am seeing Toby on the weekend and will see if he has kept any of his trophies.
In the (early?) 1980's there was a National race at Waitara on the 10 lane flat track. If my memory is correct, my friend Ric Bundy won all 3 classes (20, 27 and open??). I don't recall Ric doing (m)any races anywhere else. He was using Wayne Bramble chassis. Can anyone confirm this, my memory is a little vague, although I remember doing his cars.
regards
Greg

I will need to clean them first, the 38 years has taken it's toll.
What the best way to turn black tarnish back to silver?

Re: Australian Slot Car Roll of Honour
One simple job usually leads to many others...
There are many proprietry products on the market, plus many home remedy conconcotions, but when I had some of my wife's silver trophies (from pro squash days) re-plated, the silver plater suggested Goddards products, and I tried their Long Term Silver Polish.
I've used it a few times on other trophies that were tarnished, and they came up great.
