New F1 for HSC

Post by Mark Fox »

Hi All,

Having been thrashed in F1 for some time now and with Justin being almost unbeatable in this class I decided to try and do something about improving my lot in the F1 stakes for this season.

My new F1 goes like stink and really took Justin to the line in its first outing - I was really pleased with the way it drove and look forward to getting it really sorted out.

This design is based on the first F1 I had ever built which was really good for some time but had seen better days.

The design incorporates:
- a really strong rear end with a custom made bracket which shifts the motor as far forward as I can get it
- single 16# rail
- 16# brass rod pans
- 16# brass plate everywhere
- lots of lead for HSC Flat Track

So here are a few photos:

Many people have asked me how do I get the inspiration to build such leading edge and innovative designs (well my Mother did anyway) and I think in the instance of my new F1 it has been the relocation of my slot building empire in the loft where I get this really great and inspiring view:

See you all at the next Retro race.
