2011 Sydney Regional Championships

This event is running again this year, for JK GT1's and Aussie Retro Canam. The dates are as follows:

Round 1 HSC Tuesday, 21st June
Round 2 SlotCarShed Tuesday, 19th July
Round 3 HSC Tuesday, 23rd August
Round 4 SSME Tuesday, 27th September
Round 5 HSC Tuesday, 18th October

For the HSC rounds, the shop will open at 5:30pm, free practice at 7:00pm and racing to start at 7:30pm. Would the other track owners please post their proposed schedules? Once again, the GT1 class is for JK LMP bodies only. I am looking foward to racing on Shane's new track which is almost finished! Retro Canam rules can be found on the HSC website, under News and Events. Steve, would you please post the link to the GT1 rules? Straight after the completion of Round 5 at HSC, there will be a free pizza dinner and trophy presentation.

Round 1 done and dusted last night! Great racing in both classes, with 12 entries for GT1 and 8 for Aussie Retro. Troy Boldy dominated both classes, winning GT1 by 4 laps and Retro by 8 laps.
I will post the results on the HSC website so you all can keep a track of the progress point score. Looking forward to seeing you at the next round at Shane's Tuesday July 19th.

As the next round of the Regional Championship, is to be held at 'SlotCarShed' at Tuggerah, I thought I'd 'post' a few pics of the New track.

It looks Great !! Would appear to be very smooth and fast and looks like the racing should be a real Hoot!

Unfortunately due to Work commitments, I won't be able to attend which for myself is somewhat disappointing, as I would really like to have a 'run' on this great looking track.

I certainly hope quite a few Sydney-siders decide to make the journey North for this event, as it looks like it should be a great track for both Retro's and GT-1's.

I'm sure the racing will be as good as the track looks!!
The Race Schedule will be 'posted' as soon as we have the details.

SRC Round 2 @ SlotCarShed Tuesday, 19/7/11:
Shop opens: 5:00pm
Free Practice: 7:00pm
Racing starts: 7:30pm
GT1's will go first, Retro starts right after.
I hope everyone can make it, I am really looking forward to racing on Shane's new track!

Round 2 completed last night, and all I can say is WOW! Pictures can be deceiving! Shane's new track is truly awesome! For such a small layout, this track is incredibly fast to race on: perfect for GT1 cars and Retro. I must say beforehand I was a little aprehensive about adjusting to driving on such a different layout, but was pleasantly surprised on the night. We had 10 drivers for GT1 and 8 for Retro. A thoroughly enjoyable night's entertainment, but with only one regrettable announcement: Troy won both classes again!

Don't forget Round 3 of the SRC at Hornsby Slot Car Raceway, Tuesday, August 23rd. Shop opens at 5:30pm, free practice from that time onwards until racing which starts at 7:30pm. Looking forward to seeing all of you again for Round 3 of the journey!

Anyone interested in having a practice prior to to race night, you are welcome to come along to our Wednesday comp nights.

Practice from 5:30 to 7:00pm $5.00, and you can join in with our S16D flexi racing from 7:30 included in the $5.00.
