You built soldered together brass and piano wire chassis?
I'm pretty sure that's what Stoo and Plucka are referring too.

I know you have been building (pretty well too, I might add) the Plafit, MoMo and Schoeler type 'scratch build' hard body cars for a while.

Oh for goodness sake , build a bridge you blokes. I bet you still have an ATARI set up in your room!!!!. Good on wayne, he loves it . its his passion and if others get involved, good on them too. However i have had a crack at the older style brass chassis and you need to be bloody skillful. i am no where near it yet but will persevere. I cant see why people cant embrace it all. After all the one commonality is; its slot car racing !!!

respect the past, acknowledge the present, embrace the future !!

Absolutely, and if it were not for Wayne and James at HSC, the retro thing may still not be in Aussie, and yes it does take a bit of skill to build those things and have them work competitively.

Now, how about getting back on track.... the N.S.W STATE TITLES 4 PLAFIT CARS

Yeh, it's called Slot Car Racing, not Slot Car Building.

If you want to build your own car that's OK, if you don't want to build your own car that's OK too. If you want to harp on about the same shit over and over again when nobody cares, that's not OK.

I'm starting a list of bastards who didn't build there own cars and, even worse, won championships with cars built by other people.

1. Fangio
2. Schumacher
3. Hamilton
4. Senna
5. Prost

I could go on but I'm sure you get the idea.
Cheers,

And arguably the Equal of or better,..THREE, that 'Built Their Own',..and did quite well with them as well, just quietly !!!,..lol

Jack Brabham, Dan Gurney and Bruce McLaren !!

EDIT; Oh Heck I forgot one of the 'Main Men',..DOH!!,..Jim Hall !!!

:D

None of whom was a bastard either ;) :D

Sorry, with 'Possibly' One Bastard,.(Depending on Who you 'Read',.lol),...Surtees !!,..lol

Look,..everyone can enjoy Their participation in Slot racing in ANY way they Choose and I will 'Support' their choice, for Simply the 'FUN' aspect of the HobbyBut,..for those that actually KNOW me,... ;) ;) ,..they are Well aware that I both Race and support a N umber of 'Different Disciplines' of Slot racing AND I am Hoping!! it is understood, that the 'Underlying' theme is ONLY to perhaps try and 'Inspire' people to actually Do something for themselves.
I will make No apologies for my belief that if More people Do assemble/make their Own Stuff, it can ONLY Increase the Depth and Quality of the 'skill level' within Slot Racing in general.
:D
