One would have to suggest, that a Really GREAT Night was had by All, at last Nights 'End of Year' Bash at HSC !!
We had Quite a Good Roll Up,..quite a few 'Notable' No-Shows though,..so,..(Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year), to All those HSC Racers who were Not there last Nite,..
I don't know about You Guys, BUT I reckon we have just Had a Year of GREAT Racing,..in ALL Classes !!!
I must Note,..that, I am NOT alone in that thinking, as was evidenced, by the 'Presentation' to James of a really Nice Plaque, thanking James for His Efforts etc as the New Owner of what is Now THE Oldest continuously running track in Australia !! (One of about 7 in the world that have existed in the same location for 42 to 47 years!!), and LONG May it Continue !!!!!!
On a Merely Personal level, may I say Just How enjoyable it is (and here I think I also speak for Fox), to come and race at HSC,..Especially, with the Group of guys we race with AND the fact that Fox and I Raced with them when we First Started Racing,..Fox with James at Rushcutters Bay, Wayne, Lindsay, Fox and Myself AT HSC,..all those years ago !!
Having Now Raced in and with Many of the Classes run over the Last year and a bit, I'd have to suggest that the SAME, Fun, Fast racing, all done with a Good 'Spirit' and cameraderie, is exhibited Across the board in as similar a Fashion as we have been experiencing in Retro's.
And Good Fast, FUN Racing is What it's all about,..For US that is,..the Racer,..BUT,..New and Younger participants is What it IS About for a Track and there one Would also Have to Suggest, from the Many Happily Screaming Kids and seemingly 'Endless' arrival of Party goers, and the Happy faces as they Leave,..one can surely Hope that SOME of those Dad's, will Come Back,..Oh "Taking the Kids to the Track Darling",..lol with The Kids !!!,..ROFL
Well I certainly Hope they Do,..not Just for the Ongoing growth etc of Slot Car Racing,..but Mainly and also for the Continuance of MY Slot Car Track,..Good old Waitara,..or HSC as the 'Younger Crowd' know it.
To James and Wayne and All who Help Run and Keep HSC looking and Running Well,..a Heart Felt Thanks and My sincerest Best wishes and success to you,..and THANKS GUYS,..for Making HSC, such a Really FUN and Enjoyable place to come BACK to after ALL these years and Have the Same 'Simple' fun I did,..when I was a Young Teenager !!!
The Tracks and Centre both Look and Function well, a Great selection of Stock for All classes and I reckon, a Really Great 'Vibe' about the place,..
, that in some ways kind of 'Echoes' the 'Vibe' that was often Evident at G&D,..(You know what I mean Wayne!!)Thanks again and Well done guys!
Oh Yeah,..There were Heaps of Trophies and Laughs, Some people requiring Small Pan-Tech Trucks to Take home all of their Trophies,..I am so annoyed I Didn't get a Pic of The 'PILE' that Troy took away with him last Nite,..BUT, He was Not alone !!,..(I have So many pictures , I will in Fact have to get Wayne's List to Work out Who is getting What,..lol),..So,..I will Post just a 'Spattering' from last nite,..so you "Get the Idea",..
The Vintage guys had a series of races on the Flat Track, to End their Years racing and the rest of US 'Children' (well atleast from what the Activities in the First Rental Car Race were like!!), Raced Some Rather FAST and variably Handling Rental Cars on the Big Track.
Daniel Harron Reigned Supreme Over us all, by Both Driving Like a Demon and as I discovered, actually being 'Smart Enough' to Check each of the cars for Chassis Flatness/setup etc Prior to Each Lane and Fixing It !!!,..Smart thinking !! and Well Done Daniel !!,..(Mind you I am Now Quite sure Why I have Never purchased one of those Frames!!,..lol).
ANYWAY,..May I wish you ALL a Happy and Safe 'Festive Season' and Look forward to seeing ALL and More of you Next year, in what I am sure will Only be as Much FUN, if not MORE than it was this year.
