Good Stuff Adrian,
If I recall this info was gathered by Perry Vagelis.
The Nats as we now know them (a single event run at Easter) started in 1985.
During the years 1980 to 1984 there was a multi race championship with events being held in each state ie Vic. S.A. and N.S.W.
Not too sure about the years pre 1980, I don't recall there being an actual Aust champion just major races ie Matich, Brock, Geoghegan, etc.

Was also a 3 race series in the mid to late 70's. In the late 60's/ early 70's it was The Jack Brabham Trophy Race for Formula 1 cars. From memory Rick Bishop won in 1968, Ian Banister in 1969, then the strict scale rules were relaxed, I remember racing Formula ones at Moony Raceway, Brunswick in the early 70's.

I knew I had seen a list somewhere on the net in the past. The site that was hosting it has been shut down. Lucky the archive had taken a snap shot of this page. A lot of the other links had been missed but this main one was saved to the archive.
I will compile a list of Brock winners and maybe once we get the years going people may remember what tracks the race was held at.
