What an excellent race we had!
I think that this race was proof positive that the move to spray glue racing is an excellent idea. The group 27 race was so much fun. The racing was much closer than we ever saw on glue, and it was surprisingly clean and competitive. We seem to have so many more competitive racers now, and driving so well. Dave Fitzgerald drove an incredible bracket on red lane to lay the foundation for a very well deserved victory. Kudos, Dave!
Opens was fantastic fun! Because we don't have glue on the track there is so much skill now in driving these powerful cars, and especially in managing the "bad air" from other cars. It's a really tough test if driving skill now. Daniel did an excellent job of managing himself and his car through the traffic and thoroughly deserved his win. Lindsay pushed him very hard and showed why he is National champion. Charlie did an absolutely amazing job to come 3rd after a very difficult bracket in red lane. Kudos, Chuck!
For myself, I had an absolutely brilliant day. It was just excellent fun to race such a classy field, and the Hornsby vibe was very much present and correct. I fucking love racing slot cars when it is like this.
