G'day Chuck,I'll be testing a couple of cars this weekend.
One is geared 12/39 the other 11/36. I've set one up to run .720 tyres, the other .680. Both use "Fish" rubber.
The "Brown" isn't a big power track. It doesn't have long straights. It's all about corner speed.
I'll put a couple of hundred laps on them and let you know what works.
Cheers,PJ

OH dear.......
Due to dissention in the ranks
and a couple of deaf old coots toddling down a different path
We've made a couple of modifications to the classes...
FLEXI-HAWK GT:ANY flexi chassis,JK Hawk 7 motor and a 60's style GT coupe body (i.e. RedFox Ferrari 330,JK Lola T70,Parma T70 etc...)
FORMULA 908:Standard flexi/V8 Super Cars with JK Porsche 908 bodies. Any flexi chassis, any 16D setup with standard Chinese ,unbalanced 16D arm (i.e. Parma 501-A,501-T or Proformance Deathstar arms...if you can find one!
),1/8 axle etc.
FJ's: No change.
Hopefully this will be the final list for 2013.....
The first race is Jan 19. Racing starts at 1pm.
There will be a test and tune on the "Brown" on Sat. Jan 5.
Cheers,PJ

I tested both my Flexi-Hawk GT's this arvo and they performed extremely well.
The 12/39,.720 tyre,Parma bodied car did a best of 3.939.
The 11/36,.680 tyre,JK bodied car did a 3.901.
As a comparison, the current Standard Flexi/V8 Supercar record for the Brown is 4.068.
Both cars were a bit too "snappy" out of the tighter turns and would probably benefit from dropping each pinion by a tooth.
Bruce and Rob tested their Formula 908's. Both cars were in the 4.0-4.1's range.
Rob and Geoffs 908's
Hope this gives you some idea of what's going on with these new classes.
Cheers,PJ

OK, Round 1 of the Summer Series is on next Saturday Jan 19.
We will be running FJ's,Flexi-Hawk GT,Formula 908 and Retro F1 or Retro CanAm (Possibly both, time permitting
....)
Get yourself down to KW for a great day of racing on the fabulous Williamstown Brown !!!!
Cheers,PJ
P.S: More testing has shown a gear ratio of 9:39 or 10:39 is best for Flexi-Hawk GT. This should get you into the 3.9-4.0 sec. range.
