Hi guy's,

Noticed talk about events and dates on another topic, well Adelaide might need a pencil in soon in the early future.

The people that know of the old Red Line raceways Blue King will be alive once again. Like early 2012. Can't say much at the moment But our club here in Adelaide ,Thunderbird Raceway is moving forward and will be one of the biggest commercial raceways in Australia.

I'll keep in touch, can't give full details so you have to wait to next report.

Until then...............

Hey Shane,..Cool !! :) :)

That was a Great track and was a quite Challenging King track to do well on.
More of a 'Drivers King' than Many of the Modern Super Swoopy Speed bowls seen these days.

Look forward to hearing some more news etc and Hope you have a Great Christmas.

Cheers
:)

Hi PJ,

We move location into our new premises at the end of February as the current tenants need more time to vacate, then the major task of putting the raceway begins. 7 tracks including the "KING". Plus a drag strip.

The original track builders are going to put the track back together and i spoke to Wayne Bramble on the wiring who is in contact with the owner Chris Osborne to make sure we wire the track correctly to accommodate wing cars. We have a great electrician on hand as well.

Can't wait .

hahaha, Adam's brother Dennis is still racing in Adelaide (i race with him).
The story goes that when Redline closed, Geoff Little asked Bob Crawford if they could run the Miller..........so, to me, it has been on loan!!
:D

Yep, that's the truth. I was part of that initiative by Geoff. It has ALWAYS been the intention that the Adam Miller should be raced in SA when SA has a track to do so. I hope the RedLine King works out well, because it rewards the driver like few other Kings.

Very True Tim,..I ran both 15's and 27's there and although Never came home with a Trophy, I had some Fantastic racing with,..for one,..Geoff Little,..lol And Others ofcourse,..but I thoroughly Enjoyed the Racing and the overall experience!

There were some Great Racers across the country and quite a Few of them in the era I last raced Wing Cars,..Tough,..but very satisfying when one did well,. :)

It Will Certainly be a 'Different' Experience for the Current 'Crop' of SA Racers and may even bring a few people 'Out of the Woodwork'.

Plus it will be Great to have Another, Different and very Good 'King' for people to run on.

Hi Chad,

Just thought I'd set the record straight.

The Adam Miller race was started by the guys in Adelaide in the "eighties" as a mark of respect for the late Adam Miller who was tragically killed in a motor cycle accident.

I was lucky enough to race against Adam many times and raced in every Adam Miller race that was held in Adelaide.

When Redline Raceway closed we at King Willys offered to keep the race alive by running it at our raceway. (This has already been stated by Tim Tyler in a previous post)

I think there is some insinuation that King Willys has "stolen" the Miller, however nothing can be further from the truth.

The "Adam Miller" is and has always been an "Adelaide" race and I would be pleased if it returned to Adelaide, especially if it were to be run on the "Redline" King where it was run so often in the "eighties and "nineties".

On another matter the Miller was originally held on the Adelaide October weekend and was run on that date for many years.

This might be a good date for the new track.

Damn, I was planning on winning The Adam Miller this year at King Willy's.
At least it's going back to it's rightful owner in the spirit of our sport/hobby.
Better clean it first.
Happy Motoring

the king is still in its container Geoff

the old hire track is out and rubbed back ready for painting

now that the model car nationals are over, there should be more progress.

the new owner Chris Osborne (proprietor of Thunderbird Raceway) is going to take his time and do this properly!

:)
