There was a Place I dealt with some years back for a Number of Processes, that included Black Chroming and a variant on the Parkerisation process.
"Osgoods" if I remember correctly, in fact, Jack Osgood I think,..they Were on Botany Road on the Left as you head to Mascot.

Not sure if they are still there,..or whether they would have a Web Prescence, Yellow Pages maybe?

If I can find them, will let you know.

Not sure about Nickel on Al, but Lachlan does/did chrome on Al.
I figure if they can do Chrome, they can do Nickle.

On spray goo a steel chassis will work better than a aluminium one because it flexes more .
