Hi Perry,...

As far as I am aware, there Isn't Any Retro Racing happening Anywhere in Qld.

Mind you, there Are a Number of people who I believe Would be interested in such a thing,..Perhaps speak to GaryJ, or Kim Axton,..or Others, as if there Was some racing, I am sure Others Would Join in.

Ofcourse what Got it going Here, was a couple of guys with Cars, Running them around at their Local Track and generating interest in them, with Others driving them etc,..always Helps to have aFew 'Spare' cars,..as Loaners.

There Are Good Kits available,..the JK and also the Slick7, which appears to be quite a good chassis,..even If Not Really in the True 'Spirit' of Scratch-built cars from the Era,... but as it seems very few people actually Build cars, it May be an option.

Previously, one would have to suggest there Aren't that Many suitable tracks,..but I have heard of a few others appearing up there of late.

Would be Great if there was some active retro racing in Qld!! :D

thanks Stoo
I have made a division of Win-em Slot Cars set aside for Retro Racing
to assist with parts up here.

http://www.slotcars.com.au/00Retro.htm

I built these two the other day and have a JK I want to cut the pans on,
It would be good to get some racing going yes but I wait to be invitation
before walking into private tracks.
I have been compromised for time reasently looking after my elderly parents,
so this has kept away from slots.

Hmmm, that makes 3 people in SEQ with retro cars. Shame there is nowhere to race them.

Hi Perry,
How do you get the brass (or is it copper?) so shiney? (dremel and polishing paste?).

I agree with Stoo, they look like fine pieces of workmanship.

I really like the mirror finish. Hope you can share some of your secrets...
cheers,
js

Thank You Guys

This type of information requires a bribe. $$$

Its Brass as Copper is to soft for chassis, I use the Dremel and Jeweler's Rouge.

I really hope I can get away to the Retro Nat's race but I can't promise anything.

Yep, very nice work Perry.
