Just a quick, 'Heads Up',..
and Yeah,..we Know that No one from Interstate actually came to race,..lol, so apart from the slightly 'dubious' Title,..we had some Fantastic Racing !!,..Extremely competitive !!
CanAm's were Sooo close !!, F1's, slightly 'messier' than last race,..but What a Race !!
Outcome?
CanAm
TQ Cody Bramble 4.981
EDIT:
The Overall times turned bu Everyone in this qualifying session were Pretty Impressive.
The first 9 places were cover by less than .3 of a second !!!
Mark Fox, gave some indication of His pace by Just missing a Sub 5 sec' time, with a 5.006 !!
Very closely followed by James Colefax typically turning a very respectable 5.096!
With Troy, Bevan and myself all doing 5.1's, we all Knew we were in for some great racing !!
Semi B
Well, this was a pretty Clean race, with most of the Top positions taking shape in the first bracket and staying that way. Close and fast !
Mark Fox showed his competitiveness by turning an Impressive lap total of 174 laps !! Mark held 1st from the get go and never looked back.
Similarly, Bevan Halloran, put in another 'typical' performance to also turn an impressive lap toal of 170 laps and also had secured 2nd from the start, as did Troy Boldy, who had also taken 3rd by the second bracket, with a slightly troubled total of 168.
Bill Wall, (who certainly seems to be enjoying his recent return to slotting), also put in a very creditable performance making the last of the move ups, after a great battle with another newcomer Darryl Toole, finally taking 4th with 156 laps.
Fifth was taken by another recent arrival, Chris Priday, who after a slightly 'shaky' start, found his feet towards the end and finished with 153 laps.
Darryl Toole, took 6th, with 148 laps, with Jacco close behind with 144 and bringing up the Rear, young Joshua, who had a possibly 'Less than memorable' performance ending with 125 laps.
As a marshal this was a relatively easy and enjoyable race,..
Semi A
The Top 6 places in this race, changed race long, with almost everyone holding a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th at some stage.
Cody Bramble, like Mark Fox in the previous semi, skowed us what we were in for in the Main.
Cody took 1st at the start and managed to turn an even greater number of laps than Mark,..Just,..with a very Impressive 175 laps !!!
Way to go Cody !!
The 'Rest of Us' ?? ,..rofl
Oh,..we were nearly ALL on the same Laps,..ALL Race long !!,..lol
I somehow managed to 'claim' 2nd, with 166 laps,..(Cody?,..is he in Our Race?),...lol
James was credited with 3rd, by turning,..166 laps,...hmmm,..shall we say,..closelsy followed by,..
Dale Andersen, taking the last move up with,..Now wait for it,...Yep,..166 laps !!
Young Daniel Harron just missed out tonight, but drove very well, to finish 5th with a very good lap total of 162.
Ivan Levanich, having a run again, also had a good run, with 158 laps.
Rob G seemed to have a Less than satisfying run, ending with 147 and Robyn , seemingly to have a smooth almost incident free run ending with 119 laps. Good drive Robyn!
Main
Well,..I Know I Keep saying this,..but This Was a Very Good race!
The line up for this race was bound to provide extremely stiff competition and so it was.
Once again,..Cody managed to 'snare' 1st place from the start and held it relatively comfortably till the end, to finish with 262 laps.
We were all close and it would have to be said that if Cody Didn't de-slot, the difference would be Even Greater !!,..sigh,..WD again Cody!
Mark Fox managed to take 2nd at the end, with 259 laps, after having an incredibly close race with eventual 3rd place finisher Bevan, who had held 2nd almost race long, with 257 laps.
Fourth place was taken by Dale, who I can assure you was having a Load of Fun all race with James, Both ending So close at the Line, with 253 laps a piece!
Troy B managed to Almost get to them, after having probably a far less than Ideal race ending with 251 laps.
I managed to claim 7th after Another enjoyable Semi, Another So-So performance in the Main,..sigh,..ending with 240 laps,..Eeeek !!
With Bill Wall on 236.
1st Cody Bramble
2nd Mark Fox
3rd Bevan Halloran
F1
TQ Cody Bramble (I don't have the details in front of me, but driving Wayne B's new FD1, I think Cody did a time Faster than the CanAm time,..And on half a Volt LESS !!).
Sorry,..I was wrong,..Close though 4.991,..Damn good Time! Wayne's New chassis is certainly Impressive !!
1st Dale Andersen !!
Way to Go Dale !! a Very Tough, well Fought an Deserved Win, amongst a Truly Very Strong field of both cars and drivers and with a modified RedFox chassis no less lol
As I don't have any of the F1 details at the moment, and it seems my Bwain has gone on strike,..lol, I honestly Can't remember, the rest of the placings/totals etc.
Will Fill in the details ASAP
Plenty of Piccies too
Details as promised;
As there ended up being 9 starters, we ran a Semi with 7 move ups and TQ taking a sit out.
Semi;
This was a pretty enjoyable race, with dale probably showing us what was to come by finishing 1st, with 169 laps!
Finishing 2nd, Miles behind Dale,..NOT was Troy, on 169 laps !!
Mark Fox took 3rd, (Hmm,..this is Looking familiar in hind-sight lol), with 165 laps.
Rob G,..showed his potential, (as shown with the run he and I had at the start of the Final), Very much keeping Mark honest with 165 laps !! Great drive Rob !!
Literally,..Miles behind,..with 164 laps was James C, myself in 6th with 161 laps and the final move up being taken by Chris Priday in his beautiful Cooper, with 150 laps, just edging ahead of Bill, just missing the Final with 147 laps.
Main;
As noted, a Great Race, (well perhaps NOT for Myself !!,..lol), but a fine race none the less.
Dale and Cody Battled Race Long, with the lead being swapped at the end of Each bracket !!!
Especially, as Troy was 'Right There, whole trace long, Also ending on the Same Lap, the difference at the Line being Just 0.065 seconds !!!,..Great stuff guys.
Mark, James and Rob G, all swapped places at times during the race.
With Chris holding station until I 'Pipped' him at the end.
Now if Only I had managed More tha 9 laps in the first bracket on Red!,....lol
A great Race and Congratulations Must go to dale for Once again taking out the Inaugural major F1 Retro event.
Concours was taken out in Both categories by Chris Priday !! Nice Work Chris,..His Cooper for the F1 race was Luverly and Very 'Proper' !!
Once again, sincere Thanks goes to James, Wayne and everyone else involved in the 'Process' of running HSC!
It was as always a Truly Great 'Event' to have been at and Competed In !!
Sentiments I am sure Everyone agrees with
It was Really Great Racing and becoming Very 'Clean' as well.
I had 'One of those Nights', just 'Stupid stuff, should have done better in the CanAm race, but had an Abysmal first bracket on Black, which kind of 'set the Tone' of my race !!,..lol
Thought I was in with a Pretty Good 'shot' in the F1 race, after doing a pretty good time in Qual, both Rob and I zipped off together at the Start and had a fantastic bracket running Hard As together for the Whole Bracket !!,..Great Stuff Rob !!,..But,..second bracket and amazingly, I stripped some teeth of the Crown in a Very Strange way, (First Damaged crown so far!) and although I Did manage a 'Lightning Gear Change, I had Stupidly unplugged my controller and lost even More laps trying to plug it back in,..DOH !!
Amazingly, I managed to 'Haul' Back upto 7th !!,..ahh well, there Was some great racing going on and,..as I am Sure everyone Else did,..I had a Great time !! And heck that Really IS what it's all about anyway Isn't it ???
Back soon,..
Stoo
