HSC Retro CanAm Rnd1 Series2

The first of the seasons end rounds of Retro CanAm was held last weekend at HSC and although we did not get the numbers we have been getting of recent times, we still had some very good close racing, with once again, some newcomers and some re appearances of some recent and younger racers attending.
All up, we had 9 starters, Qual, 2 x Semi's and a Main.
Qualifying:
James managed to TQ on the Night, with a 5.066, followed by Mark with a 5.073, myself with a 5.106 and Dale with 5.114
In fact all the times were Pretty good and so a good nights racing seemed imminent
SEMIS:
Four starters in the first Semi, with the First three moving up.
This was a Ver Close Fought Race Between Mark and Dale,..with Dale finally coming out on top, with 169, Mark 2nd with 165 and Rob coming in 3rd with 155. Jacco unfortunately 'Missing' the Main this evening,..But Both jacco and Rob Drove Really well and I am sure are looking forward to More Racing in this Class.
The Second Semi,
Well I'd Like to say this was Also a close fought race,..but it was Not so,..aprt from the tussle for 3rd and 4th.
James Grabbed 1st in the Opening bracket and Never looked back, ending on 167 laps. I managed to grab 2nd and hold it for the race duration ending on 163 laps, with Chris and Joshua occasionally swapping places to take the remaining move ups, with Chris coming in 3rd and Josh 4th, on 154 and 151 respectively!, with Bill missing out this time on 148, but with evryone doing consistent Laps accross the lanes, it was a pretty clean and enjoyable race.
The Main:
Well, this was actually a very good Race,..it was at times a little Messy and I seemed to have No Luck this evening, but also managed to have too many Other peoples accidents,..always a problem,..lol I Must do More racing!!,..lol
mark managed to Pretty Much Take 1st from the outset, with only a slight 'Hiccup' in the middle with Dale Snitching it for a Bracket !! The other places pretty Much all swapped many times, with James, Dale and myself struggling with 2nd, 3rd and 4th.In fact James and Dale having a Very Close Race finishing on the same lap mere feet apart!
It was great to see Rob, Josh and Chris make the Main and have Good Solid Runs, all turning in good lap totals! and having good racing for the minor places.
The final Outcome,..was a Well deserved victory for Mark Fox, with amazingly his Original Retro chassis, as on the Night, it just seemed to Work !!

2nd James Colfax 249 laps
3rd Dale Andersen 249 laps
4th Stewart Amos 242 laps
5th Rob Grlubesic 232 laps
6th Chris P 223 laps
7th Joshua Walder 221 laps
Once again a Friendly and Great evening's racing. The fact that the OMO guys weren't there, also contributed to Lower numbers, so am looking forward to the Next combined round.
