Hi all
Well another SRC , completed, with a great turnout ...... 10 for Retro and 11 for GTI.
There were extra people there, who I did not know and I did not meet, my bad !!!!!!!,,
The first race,
RETRO CAN AM
10 RACERS ,,,ROUND ROBBIN FORMAT with 4 byes ,
I can't remember much of how the race unfolded, as the carnage was instant and consistent for the entire race.
My focus was to try to stay out of trouble.
I failed and also contributed to the mayhem .
Dave and Wayne as usual, drove a great race to take 1st & 2nd; 241 & 239 laps respectively.
Ando and I finished with 234 laps, with Ando taking 3rd
Charles had car issues (I think), also Troy had an axle bearing issue.
The race was one of great carnage, for racers and marshals alike, focusing on survival, was the name of the game.
Well done to all survivors
The second race,
GTI
5 drivers; Greg, Stumpy, Neil, Stevo and Riley (who I had not met) my bad !!
This race was a repeat of the retro race, super fast and wild; no rest for the marshals here.
Greg hit the lead with his newly 'fine tuned' car, he was very happy !!! , with Stumpy, who got off to a bad start, (on his tail), got 44 laps on Purple. Very quick !!
Neil was driving well till the last lane, where car trouble ensued, slowing him down.
Stevo was also very quick, until the second last lane, with again, car trouble and losing 5 laps, did not help his cause.
Not sure how much racing Riley has done or where but he was getting stuck into it.
No slouch on the trigger, well done.
So Greg, 1st, Stumpy 2nd & Neil 3rd, well done.
NB: There may be a discrepancy between the race Sheets and the Podium Photo, or the Assigned Starting Lane Order ?? Something's Not right LOL
The 3rd race,
GTI
6 drivers. Now surely everybody would have settled down by this time. .... NO WAY !!!!!!!!!!
This was ALSO a crash fest but the speed of Wayne, who won with 278 laps, Dave and Charles, who got 2nd and 3rd, both on 272 laps.
Ando 4th, with 265 laps and Troy who always is super consistent, 256 laps.
Great effort to do those lap numbers, I got 6th, (7th overall) with 238 laps, after loosing a braid.
A very busy night of racing and marshaling.
Toni was flat out with the food, Ron flat out Race Directing, Ando for Great track prep, (as usual).
Thanks to all who came and made a fun night of it.
WELL DONE !!!!!!
