Some very interesting History and Facts in those 'threads'.

I had not previously realized that "Thorpe", used their Own 'Blanks'.
Almost ANY of the Steube Arm's, were simply Awesome !!, as were the mentioned Champion .005/.006 Lamination arm's.

I still have a couple of the very Old 'Long' Grp 20 Arms and an Old unbalanced Long stack Grp15 arm, that came in a Pink Mura 'B' can

Well there you go Stoo, No bugger knew what they were racing.
All this stuff probably brought on all those cheating allegations which were probably justified because everyone had different turns on their different stack lengths or there abouts.
Must have been mayhem. The 'there abouts' must have been about a 25% + or - in stack length and dia' and a + or - of 10 to 12 turns on the windings don't you reckon.

I just love some of the comments by Jim Honeycut, that end with,... "and that was the End of That",..

Much later on than the majority of what was discussed in those 'links', there were a number of serious reports of Arm's (in a number of classes) but especially in Grp20, where the Real number of Turns was questionable.
Whilst the amount of copper would appear to be correct if the arm' was cut after a race, and (theoretical) turns counted, not All of the copper was actually attached to the Comm' or part of the Actual Real windings

I have No proof of this, but it is Not 'unbelievable'.

Needed to measure the actual wind resistance to sort out that shit
