HSC Retro Coupes Rnd 4

Well,..having Missed a few races, recently and with the Calender only having 1 x Retro race a month now, I was certainly looking forward to this race and was Pleasantly surprised by the Good Turn out. There being a number of New Racers, both Young and Old and the return of a couple of newer racers.
So, with 16 entries !! and Tech inspection completed,..Qualifying Got under way.
Qualifying;
Well this was simply another Mark Fox affair.
Straight out of the Box, Mark turned a 4.875, backed up by a 4.958 and a 4.975 !!
All Great Laps and The ONLY person to get Under the 5.0 second Mark !!
Well Done
Cody Bramble was Next with a best of 5.032, followed by Charles Rickards on 5.088 (with his Slick7 chassis).
Bevan and TonyP chose Not to bother doing a time.
SEMI B;
This was a rather Tough Race, with a mixture of New and experienced drivers, with a fair bit of de-slotting. Hopefully, our marshalling helped keep it a Good race !!,..lol
Cody showed what was possibly yet to come, by winning with 169 laps, closely followed by James Colfax and Troy Boldy,..Both of whom had shared the first three places all race long. Great driving guys.
It was Good to see the Newer guys Really enjoying themselves and having a good race, as the Minor places and the last Move up spot, were tussled over for the whole race, with Rob finally taking out the last Move up, with 144 laps,..Well Done Rob, Making His First Retro Main.
Rob was closely followed home, by JJ on 142, Joshua on 141 TonyP on 139 and Mark Cochran with 137.
SEMI A;
This was a good race!, with Mark Fox showing both His and his car's superiority, by Taking First in the opening bracket and never looking Back,.finishing Realtively Comfortably in 1st with 174 laps, followed into second by Charles, who made a Fantastic Climb up through the Field after a Poor Start on Blue, with 171 laps.
Gregg T also showed his form by coming in 3rd on 167, after battling with Charles, with Myself (Stoo), taking the last Move Up, after holding 4th pretty much race long, but chasing Gregg Hard, also with 167 Laps,..(Missed it by THAT Much!!,..lol).
Coming in 5th, was another New face,..Bill, with 147, 6th Lindsay Byron, who Obviously had an 'Issue' on Green, Only managing to turn 7 laps,..Bad Luck Lindsay, with Andrew 7th on 135 laps.
Seems Bevan must have chosen Not to run, which was a shame, as Bevan is always a 'Threat'
So on to what was tio be a Very Good Final.
One would HAVE to describe this Race as a Very Close and Tough Race,..if it wasn't for the Fact that Cody, Once again just drove Off into the Distance !!,..lol,..Sheesh,..What Have we Got to Do ??
Cody Finished a Very Worthy Winner, against a Very Strong field, with 268 Laps !!
Not the Highest Lap total we have seen,..But Definitely More than enough!,..lol, especially, as everyone else was , Oh,..Just ever so slightly behind,..Not !!
Mark Fox, Finally Grabbed a very Tough 2nd Place with 259 laps, by Eeeking out a couple of laps advantage in the Final couple of brackets, after having a Race Long Duel, with GreggT who finished 3rd with 257, CharlesR, also on 257 laps 4th, with TroyB, Also on 257 laps in 5th !!
Phew !!,..That's Close Guys !!
That Was the Race, really,..as James, Myself and Rob basically just 'Tooled' around, in the Blustering Draught and Dust of the Leaders as they went by,...lol
James Taking and Holding 6th from the Start as I did with 7th and Rob with 8th, on 250, 247 and 204 laps respectively.
Rob had a problem with his car early in the first bracket and drove really well in his first main,..but the competition was Tough !!
So,..all in all, a very enjoyable and typical great race, with a bunch of good people and Great racers.
Cody it has to be said, is at the Moment Unstoppable. His lap totals are almost embarrising enough and if he Kept it on even More they would be even Greater !!,..ROFL,..No Really, the main was actually a Pretty Clean race.
I think all had a Good time.
This was also the Last race using the Coupe stayle bodies, which in some ways is a shame, as there were some Nice looking cars sarting to appear.
