Hi All,
A quick report on this race held on 25 July.
Firstly a field of 14 racers turned up raring to go - a welcome improvement on the recent events where less than a full field have entered.
Qualifying was used to determine 2 Semis of 7 with the top 4 from each going to a Main.
Qualifying saw Wayne Bramble take the honours with 4.883 over myself with a 4.899 - the only 2 sub 5 sec times of the day.
Qualifying
1 Wayne Bramble 4.883
2 Mark Fox 4.899
3 Charles Rickards 5.039
4 Gregg Treagle 5.083
5 Dale Anderson 5.100
6 James Colefax 5.260
7 Ivan Wearne 5.332
8 Joshua Walder 5.403
9 Daniel Haron 5.463
10 Bill Wall 5.540
11 Ivan Levanic 5.611
12 Rob Grlubesic 6.054
13 Callum Wearne 6.175
14 Troy Boldy N/T
1st Semi
The 1st Semi got under way and I am pleased to say that I lead it from start to finish . James and Gregg battled throughout for 2nd and 3rd with Gregg taking the spot by 1.7 seconds with Troy taking the last move-up 1 lap behind. Young Joshua drove well to take out 5th with Rob and Bill battling it out at the rear. Its great to see these newer racers driving well as more experiance is gained - this was both Rob and Joshua's 2nd or third race I believe and it was Bill's first for many a year - Bill constructed a really tidy build of a Warmack Kit for his first
outing.
The Placings were:-
1 Mark Fox 172
2 Gregg Treagle 168
3 James Colefax 168
4 Troy Boldy 167
5 Joshua Walder 146
6 Bill Wall 139
7 Rob Grlubesic 139
2nd Semi
The 2nd Semi saw a problem on one of the lanes which meant that some averaging and adjustments had to be made - after doing this Wayne Bramble decided to pull out even though he had clearly won the semi to allow Dale Anderson to claim the last move-up. This was a very sporting move as Wayne was looking forward to doing battle - his car was very quick and the times he did in his heat clearly showed that he would have been a force to contend with.
The Placings were:-
1 Wayne Bramble 162
2 Ivan Wearne 159
3 Daniel Haron 159
4 Charles Rickards 158
5 Dale Anderson 156
6 Ivan Levanic 136
7 Callum Wearne 124
The Final was now ready to go as follows: -
The Final placings are as follows with Dale taking out the race by leading from the 2nd bracket (for some strange reason I led after the 1st) and never being really threatened although Charles was within 2-3 laps throughout the last half of the race with James being just adrift of that. It was really Dale all the way driving perfectly.
I had a massive mechanical failure with my rear axle freezing solid in the rear bushs - keep the oil up on these babies or pay the price - some things you learn the really hard way.
1 Dale Anderson 261
2 Charles Rickards 259
3 James Colefax 256
4 Gregg Treagle 252
5 Daniel Haron 245
6 Ivan Wearne 237
7 Troy Boldy 227
8 Mark Fox 217
A fine time was had by all and again I extend my thanks to James and Wayne for having the track in good condition and thanks to all the racers for making it a good night.
