Hi All,
All off to Wollongong and convening at Wollongong Kart and Slot Car Raceway for this round of the SRC. Unfortunately no SSME drivers made the journey so it up to the HSC boys to try and nail Troy (the one and only WKSCR racer at this stage).
Joe had come down the night before and did a great job of ensuring all was tickity boo on the day - Thanks Joe.
GT1
Darryl just basically started fast and stayed that way to beat Troy by 5 laps with me 1 further back.
Gregg and Stoo were not far back followed by Joe who was multi - tasking as he had volunteered to be on the clicker as we had no marshals.
To show he was actually quick he set fastest time with Troy on the day at 4.944 - a far cry from the fast times at the only other race on this track to date where fast race times were in the 4.5 range with a TQ of 4.229!!
CanAm
Very, very close racing with Darryl, myself, Troy and Stoo all having a crack but again it was Darryl who got the flag closely followed by myself and Troy - looking at the Bell Laps it can be surmised that we all finished on the same lap a few feet apart.
Stoo was only 2 laps back in 4th over Gregg whilst Joe had a shocker with a myriad of mechanical issues - ultimately he said '---- it' and marshaled for us.
Again slow time with a best of 5.593 and the fast laps by Stoo and Troy were in the 5.6 range whereas last year it was in the 5.4 range with Andrew and I turning 5.30 and 5.31 respectfully in qualifying. My conclusion is that we were running on hotter power last year as in every the respect the track was the same or better condition???
Great racing.
