Wollongong Xmas Gold Cup

Hi All
Well firstly my apologies for taking so long to get these results up but it was a seasonal thing and then I got busy but hey - better late than never.
The Wollongong Xmas Cup for Retro CanAm and GT1 (same format as the popular SRC Series) was held on the relocated and beautifully restored Garry Johnson built 'Kingleman'.
The track is now owned by Troy Boldy and is located at his Wollongong Kart operation and with the help of the Brambles and Joe it is as pretty as a picture.
Retro CanAm
Twelve entries for this race including the Retro regulars from SSME (Baxter brothers - Wayne and Andrew), HSC tragics (Mark, Darryl, Joe, Steve, Jacob and Troy together with the Clarke brothers - Adam and Michael) and JJ representing the South Coast.
Well we did qualifying and TQ was Andrew Baxter who completely out-foxed me with a best time of 5.30 beating my 5.31. Well done to Andrew with his new Bramble built bullet.
I must say that the racing was good fun but a little fractured as only 4 of the 8 lanes had lap counters working and so nobody knew really what was happening in their race and so I have not included the individual race sheets but have summarised the results.
Darryl and Casey set fast times in the race as you can see.
GT1
Fourteen entries including all the above and also including John who is a regular for the HSC rounds of the SRC and - wait for it - DRUM ROLL - Greg Erskine the HSC super marshall!!!!
Again the results are summarised but you can see that Michael Clarke was blisteringly fast but Casey held firm and took the flag with a very fast car and consistent driving.
Xmas Gold Cup Champion 2019
Casey is Champion for 2019 with his narrow 2nd (Retro CanAm) and win (GT1) and I am sure he will be back next year to defend his title.
Thanks to Troy for sponsoring the race ant to Wayne Bramble for Race Direction, also to Joe who scrambled mightily trying to get the lap system on track but unfortunately to no avail.
Its great to have another nicely presented and fast track to play on.
Cheers
