SRC 2019 Round 8 - HSC

Hi All
The final race of the 2019 SRC Series was held this past Tuesday 19th November and attracted a good few racers with 13 for GT1 and 10 for Retro CanAm.
There was a bit on the line as can be seen from the following table with the CanAm leader-board very tight in particular with only 3 points separating 1st to 4th and for GT1 it looked likely Troy would prevail but there were only 12 points between him and 5th place and as we know anything can happen with these speedsters on the high pace Big Track at HSC.
Unfortunately Kenny could not make it for the last round which was a real shame as he was looking especially good for the CanAm series.
GT1
Race 1
This was Michael's race from go to woe chased by his brother Adam (this pair are always fast) and Joe.
Joe and Adam had a great battle being only a lap apart for the first half of the race until Adam caught Joe in the 4th bracket, they were then equal for the next two and in the end Adam pulled out a magnificent 25 laps on Blue in the last to edge out Joe by 3 laps but still 8 laps adrift from the flying Michael.
Brad was in attendance this evening and even though showing a little rust from a long lay-off finished only 2 laps down on Joe while the rest of us (myself, Wayne B and Chris) could do nothing but eat the fast guys dust.
Race 2
Troy totally dusted the field even more fully than Michael in Race 1 and led all the way to finish 9 laps up on Gregg who was 2nd all the way.
Darryl ran a good 3rd but it was a battle with Wayne with no more than a lap between them for the whole race with Jason driving well but still learning this fast but somewhat tricky track in his first year racing in this series.
Andrew had a disaster of a race and would probably like to forget the evening as he had an almighty bang in the 5th bracket and lost a lot of laps.
Wash-Up
2019 Final Point-score
Troy the winner of the series with Andrew just holding off Jason for 3rd after being leap-frogged by Darryl for 2nd.
CanAm
Race 1
Myself, Brad and Andrew basically held done the podium in that order from start to finish with the best battle being between Chris and Wayne. After swapping the spoon around a couple of times Chris finally got the upper hand when it mattered most - in the last bracket to hold off Wayne by 2 laps.
Race 2
A good old tussle between the top four (Troy, Stoo, Darryl and Gregg) who all had a share of the lead at some stage.
This quartet finished within 4 laps of each other with Gregg dropping in the 6th and 7th brackets whilst the eventual podium of Troy, Stoo and Darryl were only a lap apart with Troy pipping Stoo by less than a tenth of a second followed by Darryl.
Wayne and Jason drove good races but just did not have the experience of the others on this track although their cars were quick - look out they are coming!
Wash-up
2019 Final Point-score
Darryl again takes out the CanAm series followed closely by Wayne W and Jason who was extremely chuffed to take out 3rd.
Well that's that for this year's SRC series and just want to say thanks to James and Ron for putting it on and providing great tracks that are well prepped for our races.
Cheers
