Hi Guys
Anyone know how driver ranking works.
I have heard Mark Fox talk about it,but have no idea how your ranking is worked out.
I guess it would be some magical formula.
Thanks

Hi Wayne
If you are referring to what heat you race in and first lane choice?
It goes on the position you are holding in the club championship if you win the first race of the year, you are in the ‘A’ race, with first choice of lane in the next race.if you continue to accrue enough points to stay in the lead you continue to have first choice and stay in the A main.
Usually in the first race of the year James has a random choice for lanes.
I think Fox would like the first race ‘seeding’ to be based on last years championship result.
Hope this helps.
Neil

The Club series/SRC series is used as the de-facto 'ranking' and its only ever used for lane choice where there is no qualifying - in fact we don't have a 'seeding' ranking as such which is probably the gist of the discussion you refer to.
Every year it starts again so that even if a racer wins every race in say 2018 if he misses the first race in 2019 he will get last lane draw in the 'slow' race the next time he shows up.
My issue is that when I race I want to race against the fast guys and if there was a 'seeding' system this would be the case as I would have a high seeding rating based on my results over the past year(s) as would the other 'fast' guys. I would then be racing against other higher seeded racers in the event of there being 2 races and the lower seeded racers would race against each other. This would lead to a more enjoyable evening for all.
However this is rather a moot point as at last nights Retro race (BTR) only 5 entries showed and if it was not for Allen and Cooper (father and son) volunteering to marshal with James for us it would have been 1 race of 2 and another of 3.
As Lara Bingle once famously said: - 'Where the bloody hell are you' (all).
Cheers

Yes thanks to Cooper and Allan, both did a great job. You are correct Fox no seeding needed with only 5. 2 and 3 would have been horrible. A plus is getting home early to watch Peaky Blinders on Netflix with Marion. ( and a couple of nice glasses of wine)

OH Gee, sorry to hear of the Poor numbers.
having had to Work on my birthday for the Last few years,.. I decided that compared to racing on the Big Track or 'Shouting' myself a Japanese Meal and sitting on the balcony, sipping Sake and enjoying Sashimi in the pleasantly Balmy evening atmosphere at a Nice local restaurant, was perhaps a rather Easy choice of possible things to do
