Hi All
The 2017 Geoghegan Trophy Race for CanAm and F1 was held this past Saturday 27 May with 6 racers vying for the privilege of getting their name on this prestigious trophy which has many of the great names in Aussie Slots inscribed thereon.
The field would have been a little larger but Matthew and Joe decided to pull out and to kindly volunteer their services as marshals along with James – you can just get by with 3 marshals and a track-call button on this track.
After missing this race last year due to travel I was keen to make amends so I spent some time during the week at HSC sorting my cars out.
CanAm
Qualifying Another TQ for me with nearly 0.2 secs to Gregg
Line-up L–R
Brad, Neil, Mark, Ray, Gregg and Stoo. All the way win for me with Gregg, Neil and Stoo all featuring in the tussle for the minor podium at some stage but by the end of the 4th bracket the finishing order was set. Podium Cars L-R
Stoo, Mark and Gregg Cars in finish order
Mark Stoo Gregg Brad Neil Ray (note to Ray here – I notice you have put the pinion on back to front) F1
Qualifying
Another TQ for me with nearly 0.2 secs to Stoo this time Line-up L–R
Brad, Neil, Gregg, Ray Mark and Stoo. Another win for me with Stoo and Brad following for the places. Again the final order was sorted by the half-way mark.
Neil ran into trouble on Black and retired while the finishers were relatively spread out for this track.
The F1 1st and 2nd placings had a higher lap total than the CanAm winner – go figure. Podium Cars L-R
Stoo, Mark and Brad Cars in finish order
Mark Stoo Brad Gregg Ray – check out the great workmanship here – all parts hand built by Ray – it’s hard to build a nose-piece like this and the rest of the car is beautifully constructed Neil Presentations
Neil – Concours d'elegance CanAm and F1 Mark – TQ and 1st in CanAm and F1 Stoo – 2nd in CanAm and F1 Gregg – 3rd in CanAm Brad – 3rd in F1 This Trophy gets heavier every time I win it Thanks James for another great track prep and to Joe and Matt volunteering to help marshal with James and so allowing 1 race in each class.
