Hi All
Round 4 of the 2017 HSC Club Championship had 7 racers line up to do battle on the Big Track.
Several of the guns on this track were missing in action (James suffering from sheer exhaustion after running kids parties all day and Matthew who was having fun with his family, Brad was attending his sister’s wedding and Gregg T was probably at the drags?). This meant that the rest of us had a chance of a win on this track.
CanAm #1
Cars and Racers Left to Right
Joe,Ray, Stoo and Steve. Well Joe just flew with Steve in hot pursuit holding down 2nd all the way while Ray finished in 3rd over Stoo moving ahead when Stoo had trouble on White and Red lanes. CanAm #2
Racers Left to Right
Darryl, Mark and Neil
Senior Moment Question: -'Why won't my car go?' says Darryl - 'you need to have your controller plugged into the correct lane' says Mark Much better now Apart from the 1st bracket it was a procession – Mark, Darryl and Neil. The Wash-up
The final positions were settled after the first 4 brackets. Mark slowly pulled ahead of Darryl who was equal to Joe after the 5th bracket and was able finish 2nd after Joe had a shocker on Red. Joe set some fast times but needs to get down to Red lane end of the track and practise heaps as he just jets at the Black end but kills himself on Red, White and Green lanes so undoing all the good work at the other end.
The rest of the field were evenly spaced out but I thought Steve did well just 2 laps down from Joe in 4th with Neil just 2 laps adrift of him. Ray improves with each outing and toppled Stoo who had a tough night.
Cars in Finish Order
Mark Darryl Joe Steve (nice chassis by the legendary Tony P) Neil Ray Stoo F1 #1
Cars Left to Right
Joe, Stoo, Steve and Ray This was a procession with Joe being chased by Stoo but never getting close While Steve and Ray would have had a close race but for Ray’s “Senior Moment” of plugging into the wrong lane for most of a bracket. F1 #2
Cars Left to Right
Mark, Darryl and Neil. Another procession with my new car just superb in finishing 8 laps over Darryl who held off a very good effort by Neil who is getting closer to the podium every race. The Wash-up Well as I said my new car was great – easy to drive and set fast laps on all lanes to win comfortably over 2nd place Joe followed closely by Darryl, Stoo and Neil.
Cars in Finish Order
Mark Joe Darryl Stoo Neil Steve Ray - WOW that looks like 3/32" rails to me Well I was very pleased to have a couple of wins on this track but as I said the ‘guns’ were missing and as I look back over previous races I see that the winning totals I set here are 2-5 laps off what the ‘guns’ have been scoring
Looking forward to the next race on the Big Track and hopefully will be able to see how we go against the fast guys
