Hi All,
A quick catch up on the first of the races comprising the HSC Retro Series for 2016 held on the Flat Track.
CanAm Only 7 entries tonight with a few regulars absent for various reasons so two heats of four and three was the format.
Heat 1 saw (L-R) Bill, Matthew, James and Neil battle it out. Cars L-R
Neil, James, Matthew and Bill - four Warmacks no less, They go go well here and so are very popular. And here is how they finish - James led pretty much the whole race while Neil and Bill battled it out for 2nd and 3rd. Matthew was also going strong until he hit Purple and Black - we all know that feeling. Heat 2 was for Mark Darryl and Paul
Darryl lead for the first 5 brackets until he hit Black. Paul had a miserable day by his standards and held down 3rd all the way. My winning total of 181 laps came off the back of 5 sets of 23 for the last 5 brackets and was only a lap shy of my total lap record. Darryl was rapt to set a personal best of 180 - fast racing. Final Placings.
Mark 181
Darryl 180
Paul 172
James 166
Bill 163
Neil 163 (1.156 secs behind Bill)
Matthew 156
Podium L-R
Mark, Darryl and Paul - only one Warmack here. F1 consisted of 5 cars driven by Darryl, Paul, Neil, Mark and Bill in one heat.
Darryl managed to stay out of trouble and led all the way whilst enjoying not being part of the carnage that ensued. I hit a car parked in a corner and that took a bit of sorting - bad luck for me as the car was a bullet for the second part of the race. Paul continued his run of bad luck for the evening and lost 3 brackets to a damaged front end whilst Bill also lost the last 3 brackets. Neil just kept cruising around trying to stay out of trouble and picked up third for his trouble. The Podium L-R
Mark 2nd, Darryl 1st and Neil 3rd. Don't forget to race on the King on 20th of Feb - unfortunatly I don't think I can make it
