The second round of the HSC Retro Series on the Flat Track was held this past weekend - unfortunately I forgot the camera but here are the results.
There were 9 entrants in each of the Can-Am and F1 classes and so we had two heats that were seeded on the basis of the current point score levels in the comp to date (ie as of the first round).
The track was beautifully prepared with James applying the spray goo with his usual dexterity and to the complete satisfaction of all concerned (which probably entitles James for a Sainthood as being the instigator of a confirmed miracle - all the racers were happy!)

All the way win for Leigh with Peter on his tail the whole race. Joe came in third with a good drive followed by Bill and Neil.

Justin tore off for the first three bracket only to run into trouble on Black whereupon Paul stamped his authority and led to the line with myself following him all the way to miss out by a lap. In hindsight plugging in to the wrong lane at the start of one of the brackets may have cost me but it would have been close. Darryl came in a strong third two laps down from me followed by Justin.

Heat 1 of the F1
Peter, Darryl and Neil all had a shot at the lead during the race but when the power went off it the ever consistent Darryl who was in front of Peter by a mere lap. Neil faded to Third after his turn on the much loved Purple and Black lanes only 4 seconds ahead of Bill who finished with a very good run of 22 laps on Purple. Joe' who by his own admission is a newbie on this very difficult track, brought up the rear.

A very hot race between myself and Justin for this one. I had a new F1 which I had built based on an old design that was really good for some time but had been completely outclassed by many, and in particular Justin, (who has been near unbeatable in F1) for some time, and so was very pleased to finally be competitive against him. We battled over the lead until the end with Justin taking it out by a lap over me with Leigh finishing 6 laps behind for third.
