That was a pretty fun day of racing! In Wing 12, both heats were pretty clean and fast, as you can see. The old track record was 314 laps and both Mick and I managed to better it. I was in heat 1 and I thought that my 320 laps was enough, but in heat 2 Mick was faster and kept ahead of me all the way. But for getting caught up in a couple of crashes in the last couple of brackets, I think he might have gone 2 or 3 laps further and won by even more. Nice work, Mick!

Group 27 was a little bit crashy in places (and, yes, I managed to contribute my fair share to the carnage). The really spectacular sight was Rick's new car (Koford chassis, Alpha Nissan body, SBR motor) rocketing around on red lane. He was unbelievably fast and ran 74 laps. The car seemed to be a class above the rest of us except for Andy. Rick's motor faded in the second half of the race (new arm, first time it had been run) but Andy's speed across the lanes was bloody impressive and he took full advantage to get the win. I reckon it's going to be a big battle between those two at the Brock.

Stu Bach's power upgrade has really helped. Although the voltage is only fractionally higher, the power simply doesn't drop off one iota during the heats, so the cars stay fast throughout. It also seems to be very kind on the motors, which now seem to suffer less wear and drop-off. It's the best of both worlds, for sure.

See you all at the Brock!
