Current state of slot car racing in NSW
Re: Current state of slot car racing in NSW
Retro is raced at The Slotcar Shed , Show Us Ya slotz and Penrith Slot cars .There is no G12 raced in NSW because there is no track to race on although that might change next year .

Re: Current state of slot car racing in NSW
Hi Spooks and welcome.
As David correctly described, Group 12, or perhaps now more commonly referred to as 'Wing 12', is no raced anywhere in NSW currently, although it is still an active class and raced (Mainly in National Events), in Queensland at:
Slick7 Raceway - Slick7 Raceway - https://www.facebook.com/groups/242138055588562
RPM Raceway - RPM Raceway - https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61557080544084
and in Victoria at:
King Willy's - https://www.facebook.com/p/King-Willys-Slot-Car-100076381984643/
Retro, on the other hand, along with a number of fun Flexi classes, is raced regularly in NSW at:
Show Us Ya Slotz - Show Us Ya Slotz - https://www.facebook.com/showusyaslotz
Penrith - Penrith Slot Cars - https://www.facebook.com/PenrithSlotCars
Seaguls - https://www.facebook.com/SeagullsSlotcars/
NB: The Main Seaguls Facebook page, is a Private Group that covers all the Current events and Schedule etc, which you need to join or contact Kim Axton via email.
SSME or Sydney Model Park - https://ssme.org.au/ - https://www.facebook.com/p/Model-Park-SSME-Slotcars-100057670500413/
NB: SSME, is one of the oldest model engineering societies in the world and has been running for 115 years, since its beginnings at Summer Hill in 1906. It is a Club and whilst they do have regular racing (to which you would be warmly welcomed), you need to arrange access bas their is a 'Boom Gate' to negotiate. Contact can be made via their Facebook page or via the Slot Car Shed Facebook page
Slot Car Shed - This was a very recent New Track build, by 'Stumpy' situated in the shed on his property at Wyee but as he is having to relocate soon, is having the last few races to be held, at the moment (there was a large multi-class event last weekend and I believe only Retro's this coming Sunday 15th June). The track has been advertised for sale and will soon be dismantled and placed in storage, so 8unless you contact the Slot Car Shed group ASAP, is realistically, No longer a 'Place to Race' as such.
Retro, is also regularly raced in Queensland at:
B&S Raceways - https://www.facebook.com/BSSlotCarRaceways/
RPM Raceways - Details, as provided earlier above
I do hope that helps
If you are after any Retro 'Bits & Bobs', (or any other Slotting related goodiers), I'd suggest calling Mike Dixon at 'Show Us Ya Slotz' as he has a very impressive amount of stock and is the Australian agent for many items, runs a very effective Mail Order service and is extremely friendly and helpful

Re: Current state of slot car racing in NSW
Wow,... may I suggest that would be a 'Tall Order' !!
Apart from the Report of the 1967 NSW rvrnt that can be found contained in this magazine issue, listed here: https://slotbaker.com/amc196703.html
Further interesting reading may be had in some of the other magazines scanned and presented
https://slotbaker.com/slot-mags.html
I DO Clearly recall reading about and seeing Photos of the cars and later race, as held on the Old 'Hill Climb' track at G&D at Parramatta, many, many years ago.
Which Magazine that report was in,.. sadly my tired old brain cells can no longer recall
There would have been some reports made on some 'Slotting Specific' section of one of the magazines around at that time but I could Not suggest which one.
If you or anyone else finds any older Slotting Magazines, not already listed in that linked site, it would be greatly appreciated to be able to Scan and Present them, purely for Our Slotting History and Heritage
