Approved Bodies?

Post by SlotBaker »

Seeing as I'm working my way back into slot cars again, I thought I'd better start at the basics!!
The Rules.

I checked out the rules on HSC website and went straight to the bodies list.
It appears that there are quite a few more bodies available, and listed on the IRRA website.

Our Aussie Retro rules were based on the IRRA rules and body list back in 2008, and I think it is probably still the same list.
Are there any thoughts of updating our AR body list?

Another thought, how strict are we at scrutineering with regards to the approved body list?
Does everyone use bodies that are legal?

I just want to get back into it on a level playing field.

Thanks.

Hi Steve,Its Brad.Glad your making a comeback.Yes you will be on fair terms with everybody else,if there is something illegal about a car James and Wayne will point it out and ask for a change. As far as bodies go the ones brougt into country are fine. Its no good selling bodies that cant be raced. Now HSC rules call for 7thou thickness and so do the AUSSIE RETRO RULES (you can access the website via this forum)but please remember there are variations with the different brands. We use JK,REDFOX ,OUTASIGHT ETC.I would focus more finding a chassis that works well with your tires and your driving. As far as updating the list goes I dont think its a major because you like everyone else will probably use the Ti22.Also some of the bodies listed in the states are for pro-classes.In general for any class there are no illegal bodies around so your alright there.Hope this was some help and dont forget the AUSTRALIA DAY CLASSIC at the end of January. Thanks BRAD.

Brad, thanks for the reply, and good info.

I'm hoping to get to the Australia Day race, but might be using a rent-a-car from DT Racing.
