Re: NSW State Plafit Championship Results and Pics
OK, I will Try this again,..
EDIT;
I'll come back and fillin the names !!,..sorry,..too tired,..lol
From When I walked in,...through to the 1/32 Class Final
I must admit, on a completely 'Personal' level, I was Extremely Pleased with My overall position.
Although Just a wee bit 'peeved' that I lost an Extremely Close and Hard fought 3rd place, (Especially as I had the Lead in the 2nd Bracket!!), to another great bloke and driver,..Jim Patt,..BUT, to Have it happen almost on the LAST Lap, after chasing His Ass for the Last three brackets,..AND getting Him,..Only to have Troy 'Nail' me from across the Track and then further car and marshalling mayhem occured, allowing Jim to Repass virtually as it went 'BING', signalling the End of the Race!,..Sigh,..it Would have been Extremely pleasing to have left this event with a Podium finish.
Mind you I AM still Very happy with 4th, being beaten by Far more Experienced Plafitters!,.. Similarly to the Retros, the Night before, we Had some Fantastic 'Dicing' and Enjoyable racing!
Especially, as 'Detailed' in That 'Other' Post,..starting with a 'Bag 'o Bits' and being a Complete 'Newbie' in the Plafit World
Unfortunately, (or perhaps NOT,..lol) I had managedto do almost NO driving OR testing of the Car.
I finally got in a Few laps the other Friday night after the Vintage races, went home, made a couple of 'Educated Guesses' in What I wanted to change/adjust etc and then a bit like Troy, basically 'Tested' the car in Free Practice !!
May I say I was rather 'chuffed' in How well the car Handled and 2nd Top Qualifying, was also extremely satisfying,..(Heavy Body and Screws and added detail 'n all !!,..lol) Not too bad for an 'Annoying', old 'Wing Car' driver !!,..
Overall, I think the Friendly, 'Relaxed' and efficient racing control, Made for an extremely enjoyable 'Days' racing, let alone Just the 1/32's that I competed in.
The Driving standard was Extremely High and the Marshalling Also Enjoyably Excellent,.It's always Great when you Have Plenty of capable AND Willing marshalls !!
The Friendly, and sometimes 'comical' Cameraderie, was as enjoyable as I Knew,..or atleast Hoped it Would be!
All over the racing was Great and the racing in the Final was Very Close (as expected) and a Hearty Congrats goes out to All, as well ofcourse to the Podium Winners, Dave, John and Jim,...Who knows, I might even have managed to 'Tune' the car and get in some Extra practice with the car before the Next 1/32 race !!!,..ROFL Great stuff, Great racing,..thanks to all that attended,..I KNOW you All had a Great time,..you can tell from the Smiles !!

1/24th CanAm
So sorry about the Lousy Concours Photos.
I was using the 'Work' Camera,..noy my own and When I was shooting the Concours Photos, it had switched to manual Focus,..without me Noticing,..DOH !!
If anyone has some Better pics,..Let me Know and I will Post them,..
I must also add, that it was a Pleasure to See and Help Troy in 'Demolishing' this Quality Field, (especially being a New South Welshman,..lol), with Some Truly superb driving,...Especially as He has Only ever driven these Cars 'On the Day' and drove the CanAm for the FIRST time, in the Free practice session prior to the Start of the racing !!!
"We are Not Worthy"
A fantastic performance,..well dome mate.
The racing Overall, was Very Good and 'Typically', Very Clean, this was both a Very Good race to watch as well as I am Sure a Great Race to have been in,..Well done to All, especially those that made the 'Main'.
It was a pretty good spattering of Entrants from around the State and Country.

Re: NSW State Plafit Championship Results and Pics
My Pleasure,..
I had already suggested to James and Wayne that as I was going to be there for the 1/32's and also wanting to Help both James & Wayne Make this a Really Good 'Event', I suggested I would stay for the Day and try and do a similar Report to what Either Fox or Myself usually Put Up for Our Retro Racing.
Heck,..Everyone Loves Pictures 'n Stuff !!,..
May I say it was also a Pleasure meeting and Racing with yourself, Pete and in Fact ALL the Other racers,..Many of whom I have known for many years anyway.
In a similar fashion to Our Regular Retro Racing, there was a nice, lighthearted atmosphere about the Place and some good and humorous 'banter' amongst many friends who simply enjoy a Good Slot Car race!!,..lol
I am always happy to help promote the Simple FUN and Joy that can be had with Any form of slot car racing really.
Especially when having known Wayne since we were Teenagers and James being an Old 'Sparring Partner' of Fox's, let alone having Raced in 'Inumerable' Races Hosted and Race Controlled by Wayne over the Many years,..I probably like Many others, Had complete and Utter confidence in the Knowledge that it would be a Superb event !!
Similarly, I don't think Anyone had any 'Issues' with the Racing 'Format',..Please let us Know IF you Did !!
As mentioned here and elsewhere, what a Damn shame there was confusion over the 'Dates',..but an arguably, Hugely Successful event was had by all regardless, Which was Good.
Cheers,
Stewart

Re: NSW State Plafit Championship Results and Pics
Great Race report Stoo, and a really good bunch of photos.
Great to see such a big line up in all classes, be interesting to see what next year brings, I'd say a lot more people and cars to the track.

Re: NSW State Plafit Championship Results and Pics
Well, thanks, but it Wasn't Much of a Race Report,..
I usually try and give a bit More Detail and commentary regarding the Process of the race etc,..but to be Honest,..I am still a bit 'Brain Dead',..
Will definitely Edit the Photo Names, in fact about to do it Now,..especially as we have had a few overseas viewers.
I 'posted' links and pics and info over at SlotBlog,..as those guys seem to have a 'Healthy' exchange with Us Retro Aussies,..bnut Many of them also race Scale cars etc
