Yep, Shane has it in hand, and will post results soon.

Stoo, you were right about the track, it's a nice flowing little thing that is trickier than it looks.

We had 11 starters for GT1, and 5 for Aussie Retro.

Thanks Shane, for a great night of racing with a good group of guys.

GT1 & Aussie Retro.

Just a heads up reminder.

The next round will be at SSME Model Park @ Luddenham on Thursday 5th November.

Racing starts at 7:30pm.

Practice from 6:00pm.

Unfortunately, we do not have any sales for snacks, etc, and only have a small selection of drinks as well as tea & coffee.
So it would be best to stock up on what you want to consume for the night, before you get there.

Cars need to be wired reverse direction to Hornsby.

Cost to race, as previous rounds, $10.00 per entry, per class.

Hope to see you there.

Well, we had a modest turn out for our race night at Luddenham, with 7 starters for the GT1, and 5 for Aussie Retro.
After a bit of practice, we had qualifying for the GT1, with Troy being the man to beat.

Qualifying
4.093, Troy B
4.131, Steve K
4.207, Shane R
4.324, Ivan L
4.534, Arron C
4.738, Darryl T
4.748, Gregg T

We had 2 races of 3, and 4 drivers with 3 minute brackets.
Race 1
237, Troy B, 4.146 on Green
236, Shane R, 4.183 on Blue
232, Steve K, 4.204 on Yellow
211, Ivan L, 4.647 on Blue

Race 2
224, Arron C, 4.282 on Blue
221, Darryl T, 4.466 on Yellow
203, Gregg T, 4.662 on Yellow

The racing was very clean and enjoyable, with no major prangs.
Apart from a couple of tricky bumps on a couple of exits, there was only a few deslots over both races.

We were a bit late getting started due to a few last minute adjustments to cars after tech, so we decided to just run one race of the Aussie Retro, using the GT1 qualifying order for lane choice.
Again, Troy was the man to beat.

146, Troy B, 4.715 on Green
144, Steve K, 4.781 on Blue
138, Darryl T, 4.917 on Yellow
130, Gregg T, 5.140 on Blue
129, Ivan L, 5.204 on Blue

Once again the racing was clean with no major dramas.
While these cars are not as quick as the GT1s, they result in close racing.

Thanks guys for making the effort to go to Luddenham, and many thanks to Ric for running the night, Robyn and Robert for the cheer squad and marshalling, and to Shane and Aaron for staying to marshall the AR race.

Well done Troy.

Next stop, Hornsby on Thursday, 10/12/09.

Well the first 'Sydney Regional Championships' came to a conclusion last night at Hornsby Slot Cars, and the results for 10/12/09 @ Hornsby are;

GT1
Qualifying
5.495 Troy
5.530 Shane
5.694 Ivan
5.784 Steve
5.830 Chris
6.044 Darryl
6.063 Gregg

We had one sprint race of 3 minute brackets on the 182' Johnson Hill Climb.
242 Troy
241 Shane
232 Steve
230 Ivan
229 Gregg
223 Darryl
209 Chris
Troy lead from the start, and Shane fought back from a 3 lap deficit at 5th place in the first bracket to just about catch Troy who's car slowed a bit in the last two brackets. It was pretty much over and done with by the 3rd bracket with all positions being sorted through to the end.

Aussie Retro
Qualifying
5.144 Mark
5.182 Troy
5.398 Ivan
5.548 Steve
5.651 Gregg
5.928 Darryl

Once again, one sprint race of 3 minute brackets, but on the smaller 110' Johnson Road Course.
262 Troy
260 Mark
249 Steve
248 Gregg
245 Ivan
222 Darryl
Mark got out to a quick lead, then Troy took the lead in the 4th, Mark back in front in the 6th and looked like going on with it but had a few dramas with some traffic, and relentless Troy cruised through for the win in the last minute or so of the last bracket. I had a shocker in the 2nd bracket dropping to last, but the good old faithful Warmack built frame helped get back to a distant 3rd. Mark and Troy were clearly too quick for the rest of us.

Well done to Troy, battling on with two tough fought wins.

The series is two championships in one, with GT1 and Aussie Retro cars for each.

There was a small group of racers being eligible for points towards the Championship by participating at each of the 4 tracks;
WSMCR - Ingleburn
Slotcar Shed - Tuggerah
SSME - Luddenham
Hornsby Slot cars

The Podium winners for the Championship are;
GT1
1st Troy 61
2nd Shane 59
3rd Gregg 54

Aussie Retro
1st Troy 63
2nd Gregg 54
3rd Steve 54
There was a tie for 2nd and 3rd in Aussie Retro, but a count back to higest laps in round one decided the final result.

Congratulations to the winners, and especially Troy for being very consistant to win both classes.
Shane was also right up there in GT1, but dropping the worst round meant that Troy ended on top.

Many thanks to each of the 4 track operators for accommodating this series, and special thanks to James Colefax for initiating the series and providing great trophies and prizes.

The Championship will be back again next year at the same venues and probably four rounds again with one round in each month of September, October, November, and December. So if you are interested in these classes, please come along and have a go. It is pretty interesting to race the same type of cars on 4 very different tracks.

Hope you all have a safe and happy festive season.

Thanks for the Update Steve.

Although Only a Small Group, it was good to see the Group Enjoying the Racing at Other Tracks.

I was still busy preparing cars etc and as I figured I had Not attended Any of the Previous rounds, was Better to Leave the Championship 'Fighters' to their Own Devices.
Would have liked to have come and watched/marshalled, unfortunately, like all the other rounds, timing was Not good.

As there Now does seem to be just a little bit more General interest in all things slotting and what with Newer tracks etc, I am sure I would Not be alone in Looking forward to this series again Next year!

Congrats to ALL those that travelled about, I am sure You ALL had a Great time

Congrats as well, to Troy Taking out Both Classes.

It can Only get Better/Bigger !!
:D
